Funny how that worked out ๐Ÿคญ Funny how that worked out ๐Ÿคญ
Your break-even point is the minimum your business Your break-even point is the minimum your business needs to make to cover its costs.

You've been following along for this money talk series, right? So you know what your variable and fixed costs are, and with that in mind, I'm giving you the formula to calculate your break-even point.

It gives you a baseline to work with so you can start setting some revenue goals ๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿš€
You canโ€™t โ€œmanifestโ€ your way out of bad pricing. You canโ€™t โ€œmanifestโ€ your way out of bad pricing.

Mindset matters. Confidence matters. But at some point, the numbers still need to work.

If your pricing doesnโ€™t properly account for:
- your expenses
- your taxes
- your wage
- your profit
- and your actual capacity to work,

your business will eventually start feeling financially heavy, no matter how positive your mindset is.

A sustainable business needs both: good energy AND good numbers โœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ‘Œ
You can be making good money and still feel broke. You can be making good money and still feel broke. Not because your business isn't working, but because cash flow and profit are two very different things.

When you've got a handle on your cash flow, you stop wondering where your money went, and you start telling it where to go! ๐Ÿ’ธ

Signs youโ€™re running your business emotionally ins Signs youโ€™re running your business emotionally instead of financially:

1. Avoiding your bank balance
If checking your accounts instantly creates stress or anxiety, it usually means thereโ€™s a lack of clarity somewhere. Avoiding your numbers doesnโ€™t make the problem disappear, it just delays your ability to take control of it.

2. Pricing based on peers or fear
Pricing based on what everyone else is charging, or what feels โ€œsafeโ€, often leads to undercharging. Get a handle on your numbers and ensure that your prices reflect your costs, your experience, your demand, and the profit required to support both your business and your wage.

3. No spending plan
Planning ahead for expenses creates stability, confidence, and far less financial stress. This includes industry events and further courses/education.

Running your business financially instead of emotionally helps you understand your numbers well enough to make calm, confident decisions โ˜๏ธโœจ๏ธ
Gross profit shows what you're making. Net profit Gross profit shows what you're making.
Net profit shows what you're keeping.

I hope things are starting to click for you! ๐Ÿ’กโœจ๏ธ

If you don't know these three numbers, you're esse If you don't know these three numbers, you're essentially running your business with your eyes closed.

1. Weekly Revenue
2. Weekly Profit
3. Break-Even Point

Once you know these, you can make far better decisions about pricing, spending, and what you can afford to pay yourself.

Clarity creates confidence, and confidence changes how you run your business ๐Ÿ”ฅ

We've previously spoken about how we don't pay tax We've previously spoken about how we don't pay tax on our revenue, but rather, on our profit.

Profit is what's left (and this is where your wage comes from ๐Ÿ‘€).

We're starting with the foundations and will keep building in our Beauty Business Money Talks. I hope you're as excited about this as I am. It's a huge gap in our industry, and I'm ready to address it ๐ŸŽคโœจ๏ธ
